Eftyhia Helis, MSc
Knowledge Broker

Eftyhia’s expertise includes knowledge translation strategies for health research projects in mental health, and chronic and infectious diseases.

Connecting how research evidence can be used to benefit the health of people who need it is what Eftyhia Helis finds most rewarding about working in the health sciences.

Eftyhia joined CCSA in March 2023, looking to expand her knowledge and experience in the field of substance use and addiction. Working as a knowledge broker connects seamlessly with her past experiences in health research, allowing her to see the big picture of why and how research evidence can be used to improve health outcomes. Her previous work included serving as a knowledge mobilization officer at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) and research co-ordinator roles at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

She has a bachelor of science in integrated science studies and a master of science in psychology, with a specialization in neuroscience, both from Carleton University.

In her leisure time, Eftyhia enjoys discovering new places through travel and participating in a variety of sports and outdoor activities.
