Clearing the Smoke on Cannabis: Cannabis Use and Driving – An Update


Reviews research on the effects of cannabis use on driving and how it impairs cognitive and motor abilities needed to safely operate a motor vehicle. This resource presents the evidence on the prevalence of driving following the use of cannabis, the impact of cannabis on driving performance and collision risk, and the detection of drivers who are impaired by this substance. Following a review of the evidence, this report discusses implications for policy and practice.
