Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction

Recruitment Notice for CCSA CEO

Ottawa, June 29, 2021 — The recruitment notice for the Chief Executive Officer position at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse has now been posted on the Government of Canada listing of Governor in Council appointment opportunities. The Centre now operates under the name of the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA).

As Chair of the CCSA Board of Directors, I wanted to let you know that CCSA and the Government of Canada are seeking applications from diverse and talented Canadians from across the country who are interested in this position.

This position is a Board appointment subject to the approval of the Governor in Council (GIC). It is government policy to staff all GIC appointments through an open, transparent and merit-based competitive process.

If you applied between March 4, 2020, and July 20, 2020, you do not need to re-apply to be considered for this position. You may wish to take the opportunity to update your application based on the updated Notice of Appointment Opportunity.

CCSA has a legislated mandate to provide national leadership in reducing harms associated with alcohol and other drugs; a mandate it carries out in a completely non-partisan fashion.
