Rapid Access Models for Substance Use Services: A Rapid Review

A review of the published literature to identify the key features of rapid access models designed to improve access to and engagement with substance use treatment services, as well as the extent to which these models achieved their goals. The review identifies five models of rapid access for substance use services and supports: hospital-affiliated models; mobile or assertive outreach models; screening, assessment, brief intervention and referral to treatment models; integrated youth services models; and centralized and coordinated access models.
