Assesses the link between alcohol consumption and the development of depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. The review includes longitudinal studies with a time element for depression and anxiety, and longitudinal studies and cross-sectional studies for suicidal ideation. It also separates the evidence by subgroups for adults (including young adults, adults and older adults) and adolescents, and for males and females, when possible.
