The National Alcohol Forum is hosting a series of three webinars throughout February exploring evidence-informed alcohol policy and responses relating to alcohol during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Are Canadians buying and drinking more alcohol than usual during the pandemic? The first webinar in the series will explore alcohol sales, consumption patterns and harms during the pandemic, drawing on the results of surveys and polls commissioned by the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction and others.
Speakers:
Dr. Daniel Myran, CIHR Fellow, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and Innovation Fellow, Department of Family Medicine, University of Ottawa
Daniel Myran is a practicing family doctor and public health and preventive medicine specialist. He is a CIHR research fellow at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and a fellow with the University of Ottawa department of family medicine where his research focuses on health policy and the burden of problematic substance use.
Rebecca Jesseman, Director, Policy, Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction
Rebecca Jesseman is the director of policy at CCSA and a respected, recognized subject-matter expert on drug policy. Rebecca is CCSA’s longest tenured expert, joining the organization in 2006. She provides trusted counsel, expert commentary and presentations at the national and international levels.
