Sedatives (Canadian Drug Summary)

Summarizes data on the prescription and non-medical use of sedatives, including information on the effects, associated harms and availability. As of 2017, about 12% of the general population uses prescription sedatives and this has remained relatively stable since 2013. There is little data available to indicate whether the availability of illicit sedatives for non-medical use is increasing.
