First Do No Harm

In 2013, CCSA first drew attention to the harms being experienced by Canadians from prescription drugs by launching the collaborative report, First Do No Harm: Responding to Canada's Prescription Drug Crisis. It contains a 10-year pan-Canadian strategy that lays out 58 recommendations across five areas:

  • Prevention
  • Education
  • Treatment
  • Monitoring and Surveillance
  • Enforcement

Additional recommendations are associated with legislation, regulation, research and evaluation.
