CCSA’s National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) highlights issues and solutions to help address alcohol- and other drug-related harm.
It provides an opportunity for Canadians to learn more about prevention, to talk about treatment and recovery, and to bring forward solutions for change.
This year NAAW is from November 25 to December 1 and the theme is Stigma Ends with Me. With your help, we want to increase understanding of the devastating stigma associated with substance use and addiction and its impact on the well-being of people touched by this health issue.
Together with partners like the Community Addictions Peer Support Association and you, we are taking the conversation about stigma nationwide.
Spread the Message
The team at CCSA created a suite of resources to help reduce stigma. These resources were designed to help you facilitate conversations and increase awareness of the stigma surrounding people who use substances, their support networks and service providers.
Using the hashtag #StigmaEndsWithMe, please share your NAAW activities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and show how you are trying to end stigma within your community. You can share your plans, photos and social media information by emailing media@ccsa.ca or tag us on social media.
