Q: What is theme for the 2017 conference?

A: The theme for this years’ conference is Addiction Matters.



Q: I’m an undergraduate student and would like to attend this conference. Do I qualify for a student rate?

A: Yes. To qualify for the student rate, students must provide proof of full-time registration as an undergraduate, masters or doctoral student at a Canadian post-secondary institution in a program related to substance use. Simply fax (613-565-2173), or email a letter from your dean indicating your student status to​, then register online.

Q: I can no longer attend the conference, but am already registered. What do I do?

A: Registrants may cancel their registration up until 11:59 EST October 13, 2017. No refund will be issued after that time. A 25% administration fee will be withheld from the fee reimbursement. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Golden P​lanners Inc. at​.

Q: How do I transfer my registration to a colleague who will attend in my place?

A: Fully paid registrations may be transferred to another person by 11:59 EST November 9, 2017. All requests should be submitted in writing to Golden Planners Inc. at​.

Q: Can I register onsite?

A: Regrettably, we will not be able to accept onsite registrations.​

​Call for Abstracts

Q: Does the 250 word limit include all sections (i.e., background, objectives, methods, results and conclusion)?

Yes, the 250 word limit is for the entire abstract. For formatting consistency, we have provided the headings background, objective, methods, results and conclusion. The cumulative word maximum for all sections is 250 words.

Q: I would like to submit an abstract for a full panel presentation featuring three different speakers. Do I need to complete three separate 250 word abstract submissions?​​​ ​

No. If you are proposing a full panel presentation (i.e., three 20-minute presentations by three different speakers) please make a single submission, introducing the three speakers and what each will be presenting on within the 250 word limit.​
