Funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and led by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA), the FASD Training in Canada: Guiding Practice and Impact project created a searchable online database of FASD training programs that have met a set of program guidelines.
This national database provides frontline workers, health and allied professionals with easy access to quality training programs to assist them in addressing FASD with individuals, families and caregivers.
The FASD Training Program Database provides information on sessions (workshops, certificate or diploma courses, or training modules) of three or more hours that are designed to deliver information, increase knowledge and/or develop skills for the intended audience on the topic of FASD.
To be included in the Training Program Database, programs must
- state clear objectives
- include content that is consistent with these objectives
- be taught by knowledgeable and experienced individuals
- be consistent with described guidelines.
Selection for the Canadian FASD Training Online Database does not signify accreditation or certification as an FASD trainer or recognition of training skills by CCSA, PHAC, or their affiliates.
