Funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and led by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA), the FASD Training in Canada: Guiding Practice and Impact project created a searchable online database of FASD trainers that have met a set of trainer core competencies.
This national database provides frontline workers, health and allied professionals with easy access to quality trainers to assist them in addressing FASD with individuals, families and caregivers.
The FASD Trainers Database provides information on individuals who provide workshops or training courses in FASD. To be included in the database, trainers must
- have been providing workshops or training courses in the health/human service field for at least one year
- have provided at least 10 workshops that specifically address FASD
- have training skills that are consistent with desired core competencies
- have provided satisfactory references from two people who were familiar with their training and professional activities
Selection for the Canadian FASD Training Online Database does not signify accreditation or certification as an FASD trainer or recognition of training skills by CCSA, PHAC, or their affiliates.
