An evaluation of A Drug Prevention Strategy for Canada’s Youth is currently under way to determine the extent to which the Strategy is successful in meeting its planned outcomes (as outlined in the Strategy’s logic model) — particularly the reduction of illicit drug use among Canadian youth aged 10–24. A process evaluation of the Strategy was recently completed to examine the Strategy’s design and implementation. The key findings from this evaluation are presented in A Drug Prevention Strategy for Canada’s Youth: Process Evaluation Highlights.
An outcome evaluation of the Strategy has been initiated and will conclude at the end of the five-year Strategy. This evaluation will determine the extent to which the Strategy is successful in meeting its planned outcomes; it will also review the Strategy’s cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
