In February 2012, CCSA hosted a National Dialogue on Prescription Drug Misuse, bringing together a wide variety of stakeholders and decision makers to collectively identify issues and generate possible solutions to address prescription drug misuse in Canada.
At the event, CCSA proposed a pan-Canadian approach to address prescription drug misuse that was supported by stakeholders and decision makers. Development of a Canada’s first ever prescription drug misuse strategy is being guided by a National Advisory Council, working with Expert Advisory Committees focused on five streams of action:
