Reaching out to Canada's North—Territorial Consultations

The National Framework for Action to Reduce the Harms Associated with Alcohol and Other Drugs and Substances in Canada is the culmination of two years of Canada-wide consultations led by CCSA and Health Canada. It sets out 13 priorities for action on substance abuse, which have been endorsed by 44 partner organizations. CCSA has taken a leading role on a number of priorities, including "Reaching out to Canada's North".

In order to be responsive to the priorities of the North, CCSA will consult with key organizations and stakeholders, both private and publics sectors, and Aboriginal leadership to hear what northerners identify as the issues related to the harms associated with substance abuse in their communities.  These consultations will take place in key locations throughout all three territories.
