There is a lot of co-morbidity linking substance abuse and problem gambling. While gambling was not originally part of CCSA's mandate, that changed when demand for information began to grow in the 1990s. CCSA was called on as a national organization to fill the gap and coordinate some research and development activities. Since then, CCSA has worked with an Inter-Provincial Consortium on the three important projects highlighted here.
